Welcome Drop-In

Event Description:

Pop by and say hi (or say nothing and just listen in). Our festival organisers Gillian, Joana, Nem, and Cír will be there to welcome you, talk about what to expect at our festival, and answer your questions. This is an opportunity to get a feel for our social meetups and (re)familiarise yourself with Zoom and its functions. 

This drop-in is open to anybody (Neurodivergent or not). There will be an introduction to the festival in the beginning, followed by a casual Q&A and chat, answering individual questions. Feel free to just pop in for a few minutes or stay for the whole duration. 

Newbie Meet

Event Description: 

Finding our community and discovering parts of our identity we never had a name for can be extremely empowering. It’s never too late! 

This social meetup is aimed at newly-diagnosed/newly-discovered Neurodivergent adults and people who are questioning their neurotype. Here you can chat with other ‘newbies’, ask questions, exchange tips, and share your journey. More ‘seasoned’ NDs are welcome to join and answer any questions to help out our new and potential community members.

Lightning Talks

Event Description:
Get ready to be struck with fascinating facts! Lightning Talks are quick 5- to 7-minute presentations on any topic of interest! Members of the community will share their talks followed by a few minutes for audience questions. There will be a short half-time break. Everyone is welcome to join (Neurodivergent or not)!

Writers’ Meet

Event Description:
Are you interested in writing, but don’t know where to begin? Maybe it’s been a while and you would like to get back into it? Or perhaps you write every day! It doesn’t matter how experienced you are, how often you write, or whether you’ve ever shown anybody your work. If you are interested in writing, join this social meetup and chat with like-minded people. Whether you write poetry or prose, academic papers or cooking recipes, blog posts or fan fic: You are all welcome to join our writers’ meet!

Mental Health Meet

Type: Live, Peer Support

Event Description:
This Mental Health Meetup is being offered as a peer support space, an opportunity to share and discuss, as Neurodivergent people, our struggles with mental health issues such as anxiety (general, social, etc), depression, addictions, disordered eating, etc. and our experiences with misdiagnosis.

The event will be hosted by Eoin Stephens.
Eoin is a counsellor & trainer who has worked in the field of mental health for over 30 years, in areas such as intellectual disability, social anxiety & behavioural addictions. He is currently focusing primarily on working with autistic adults, and on understanding their specific therapeutic needs. He is himself autistic, having made the discovery nearly 10 years ago.

Please note: This is a peer support space. It is not a therapy session. If you are currently in crisis, please reach out to support services.

Show & Tell

Event Description:

Do you have a favourite rock, sock, or clock? An heirloom with a story? An artwork you are proud of? An interesting instrument? A cool fidget toy? Or any other object you want to tell people about? 

Come to our show & tell meetup and tell us all about it! This is a social meetup where we can all chat about the things in our lives, their stories, and their meaning to us. No matter how mundane it might seem if it is important to you, we want to hear about it!

Parents Chat

Event Description:

This is a meetup for parents and caregivers who are Neurodivergent themselves – regardless of whether their children are ND or not. Connect and chat with other ND parents and caregivers at this social meetup! Let’s support each other, foster community, and share our experiences and unique insights.

Art Session

Event Description:

Join our art session with guest host Zoe from The Autistic Art Club who will show us how to make a Neuro Pride collage!

The collage is an optional activity – you can also just join to chat about art & crafts, listen, or work on a different project.

All skill levels are welcome. You don’t have to show your work if you don’t want to.
To make a collage you can use scissors, glue, paper, old magazines or newspapers, printouts, stickers, colour pencils, paints, washi tape, and more.

Activist Meet

A chance to mix with Neurodivergent activists working in a number of advocacy areas from a range of advocacy backgrounds around Ireland. Let’s chat about the strengths and challenges of being involved in advocacy while ND and how we can support and help each other.

LGBTQ+ Meet

Event Description:

Calling all neuroqueers! We’re hosting a space especially for those who are gay, lesbian, bi+, pan, trans, non-binary, intersex, asexual, aromantic, queer, or in any way under our lovely and ever-expanding LGBTQIA+ umbrella. Come hang in our facilitated Zoom space where we’ll be connecting with community members, having discussions, and having a lot of fun!

Game Night

Event Description:

Join us for games, chat, and chill. We can play Jackbox Party Packs 1-6 (e.g. Quiplash, Fibbage, Drawful), Scattergories, Gartic Phone, Code Names and more. All games are easy to learn and will be explained. Most games are best played with 2 screens – for example: your laptop to follow the Zoom call and your phone to answer the game’s questions.

We will do a quick vote on which games to play on the night. There will be breakout rooms for different games and participants can choose which one to join. Here’s a quick guide on how to play Jackbox games.

Neuro Pride Day

Self Care Chats

Event Description: We welcome you to come and share tips and tricks of what works for you as self care. Self Care is an important act but it doesn’t need to look like what the media sells us. Let’s try to find out what works for us.
